Introduction
Another Titleist creation of the expensive kind is the 910D2. This club sells from $399 to $429 depending on which retailer you purchase it from. Titleist claims that this club improves distance, flight, looks, fit and feel, as well as the sound it makes when it strikes the ball. However a lot of golfers are inclined to disagree with most of these claims. The Titleist 910D2 does have an adjustable head and comes with a wrench so you can make the necessary adjustments, but I would advise that you have this club adjusted beforehand for you to ensure it is done properly fit for your swing.
Overview
Despite Titleist's claims, this is not a very good looking club. This is also not a club for the beginning golfer because of the feel and workability of the club. Titleist wanted to cash in on an adjustable club similar to what the other golf club manufacturers such as TaylorMade and Callaway brought out to the market. However, this seems to be a miss for them. On a positive note, the club does provide more distance than the other clubs on the market, but you do have to hit the club on the sweet spot. The weight and the feel on your hands is definitely there, it's just that the look is definitely a disappointment.
The Good
You need to have the club fitted even when the club has its own wrench to make your own adjustments. Unlike other Titleist drivers, the head shape is different in this one. Because of this, it is a little easier to hit. You will get another 10 yards from this club, but you will need to practice so that you can assure that you are hitting at the sweet spot. You need to have experience controlling your ball flight but workability is available with this club. The experienced golfer will like this club because of the accuracy improvements it will provide them.
The Bad
One of the bad things about the 910D2 is its look. The look is not nearly as popular or as good-looking as that of the D3, especially the shape of the head, although it does feel good in your hands. Beginners should know better and choose a different club altogether. This high-priced club is not worth it when you purchase it, and when you do you might just be disappointed because its performance really underwhelms.
Bottom Line
A lot of golfers like this club, even the beginners and the average golfers use it. However, you should not be playing with it until you get better at striking the ball. Its price and its look don't seem to fit well with its performance, but it does feel good when you impact the ball and get more distance from this driver. You will be paying in excess of $10 for every extra yard you get out of this driver though.
