Review of the R11S Driver From TaylorMade

Introduction
This TaylorMade driver is longer than the original R11 and is more tuneable. What this means is a golfer can make multiple adjustments to the club in order to get it to fit their swing. This feature allows you to change the loft, flight path, and face angle by moving the five-sided ASP plate, the movable weights and the 1.5 degree FCT sleeve. This driver comes with tools to make the adjustments, but you can also use your hand for some of these other adjustments. An example of this is the face angle of the club. TaylorMade claims that this club provides the golfer with a bigger and faster club to get more distance than the golfer had ever had before.
Overview
There aren't many things negative to say about the R11S Driver other than the fact that it has too many moving parts. However it does hit better than the previous R11 model. The adjustment can be a huge help if you know what you're doing. But if you are a beginner trying make the adjustments, then you might just disrupt your game if it's not done properly. TaylorMade is known for making clubs with excellent feel and the R11S is no different. The RS11 feels very comfortable in your hands, and if you want a driver that you can play with and make adjustments, then this is the one for you. You are going to pay for all the adjustments though, as the driver comes at an MSRP of $379.
The Good
Of the biggest positives for the RS11 is that gives you more control over your shots. Golfers who are on their way to a game improvement driver or experienced golfers wanting more control over their driver will really be pleased with the TaylorMade R11S. Its white finish is what makes this the best and it is easy to align on the ball upon address. You also get good feedback on mishits, which helps you for a better adjustment next time you hit the golf ball. The carry distance was adequate but not remarkable.
The Bad
One big flaw is just that they are too many moving parts and it is a little difficult to tune up yourself. Once you do get it tuned for you, then you should have no problems. The distance will not be what you expect and it will take time before you are used to this driver. The weights can come loose so you need to also check them before each round.
Bottom Line
This is certainly not the best TaylorMade has come out with when it comes to drivers because the R11S just has too much going on. Some golfers, especially the beginners, do not know a lot about loft, face angle, and flight path and it can hurt their game if they try to tune the drivers by themselves. Once you tune your driver with a professional though, it will improve your shot making ability greatly. The overall distance was disappointing but still comparable to the other drivers TaylorMade has done through the years.
