Just How Do You Play Better Golf?
How Much Time Do You Have For Practice?
Golf, like so many other things usually means time for practice. Just like any skill you must practice to get better?
Right? Right!
Remember the story or joke that said: "How to you get to Carnegie Hall? PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE".
What has always bothered me most with Golf is PEOPLE that never seem to practice and still do fairly well. In Golf sometimes they don't even warm up, and they still get up on the tee and hit the ball a country mile.
Heck, sometimes they don't even warm-up or practice and they come in shooting a score in the low 80's or even break 80. Now that really gets me 'upset'!
How Is It Done? Can It Be Done? When Is It Done?
It was the late great Ben Hogan that said: "There isn't a person playing golf today, who couldn't get to scoring in the low 70's if they really tried." Jack Nicholas went on to say: "Golf is 90% mental and 10% physical".
Of course you will find others, who think the only surefire way they can improve their golf game is by buying a new set of golf clubs, take continuous golf lessons and practicing for hours on end.
On the other hand, many good golf teaching professionals will tell you: "Your Golf Swing Is Good Enough Right Now to Score in the 70's. You're just simply missing some essential key points
In my experience these key points consist of:
• Consistency and the ability to be consistent.
• Learning and using fundamental psychological keys.
• Utilizing your body up to and beyond your full potential.
• Complacency and your tendency of falling into the trap.
• Knowing the principles of golf basics and how to use them.
• Being able to tap into your complete mind power.
• Developing mental toughness in order to face challenges.
• Eliminating negative thoughts that only hurt your game.
• Making Golf Fun, Fun and more Fun.
Being an avid Golfer, I believe in these key points!
Starting or continuing to play golf, however, does take knowledge, instruction, and insight. My experience in playing also involves a thorough understanding of how:
1. To banish fear, anxiety, or worry from your game and replace them with positive thoughts.
2. To utilize training techniques to increase your skill level therefore increasing your performance level.
3. To learn how to increase focus allowing concentration also blocking any negative thoughts.
4. To speed up progress by using accelerated learning techniques for game improvement.
5. To use a complete mind/body connection that will eliminate 'blow-outs' on any hole.
6. To dissolve nervousness and play at your optimal 'relaxed nervousness' level of performance.
7. To take advantage of your ability to switch on your unconscious processes making you unbeatable in the game.
8. To be able to play each shot as it comes and not let previous good or bad shots interfere with the present shot.
9. To put yourself in a position to take advantage of anger and frustration and turn double bogeys into pars or birdies.
10. To shut down that 'little voice' inside your head that questions your abilities and decisions and allows you to 'just do it.'
