Lower body of the golf swing is a simpler method of achieving a simplified turn thus making it more effective and consistent. This involves turning of the hips during a golf swing in a manner that is comfortable and less complicated. It mainly gives one a strong and stable foundation to make the upper parts turn.
The move is very simple as the motion does not involve the whole human figure. The procedure of this exercise includes some of the few steps, these are; first the front knee must be kept straight during the turn thus allowing the movement appear natural.
Practicing a back heel up drill helps one to achieve this turn with much ease. One learns to keep the front knee relatively straight while the back hip is pulled back away from the ball by the upper parts of a human figure. The method requires less timing and coordination while reducing pulling drastically.
Simple power turn is another technique that is more effective, the method causes less stress on the whole body while making the coordination of legs, toes, and hips less complicated. This method has therefore gained much popularity due to its simplicity.
Traditional method can also be used to achieve this move; players have to rotate their hips round the spine. To be able to turn the hips around the spine, one has to bend the front knee thus bringing the front hip forward towards the ball and at times straightening the back knee resulting to pushing of back hip away from the ball.
Rotation of hips requires much movement and coordination of most parts thus the need of extra timing and practice. This is a major disadvantage of this method over the back heel up drill technique that requires less timing.
Another severe problem associated with traditional lower motion is that it tends to over turn or over rotates the hips. However, over rotation has been tolerated in the modern swinging as it helps with getting the face of the club back to square at impact.
Power swing lower body turn is another lower body of the golf swing technique. It is mainly achieved by maintaining the feet wider than shoulder width while one stands straight. Retaining front knee straight, one pulls the back hip back away from the ball thus the front hip acts as a pivot point. This is done without turning the upper figure at all.
