Get More Golf Swing Power With This Simple Tip

There are a lot of ways to get more power in your golf swing but in general, the simplest ways are often the best. One of the easiest ways to add power to your golf swing that many of us forget to even consider is to add extension to our swing. Adding good extension at the right time can boost power in a variety of ways.
First, if you're thinking about extending the club while you swing, you're less likely to tense up and toe the shot or over cook it. Thinking of extending during your golf swing (not so much your backswing) will lengthen your limbs and give your swing more flow and speed through the ball and it should also keep you from turning through the ball too early.
Once you begin your downswing, there will come a point during your swing where every joint in your body is at its full length of extension. Your body will be in the longest levered position possible and you must take advantage of this point in time and make sure that you're creating it right at impact. If you're creating full extension a little early, you may end up hitting the shot fat and if you create full extension a bit late, you'll likely lose power.
That being said, it's not a good idea to try and create pin point full extension during your golf swing. This can take away from your natural swing path and have you doing all kinds of wrist lashing at the ball instead of swinging smoothly. Instead, focus on being at full extension throughout the impact zone. Consider the impact zone to be about half a foot behind the ball and about a foot in front of it. It's during this space that you'll want to make sure that your body is fully extended.
Though this is a very basic tip, it will still take some time to refine it at the range before you take it on to the course. You'll be amazed at the extra power it creates almost instantly when you put it into effect but, make sure you've got a couple of practice sessions to make things consistent before you try it off the tee. Extension is a key aspect of any good golfer's golf swing power production and it should be a constant every time you hit a shot. Give it a try and enjoy the benefits of this great little power boosting golf tip.
