Why Wear A Pair of Golf Sandals?

Golf shoes, to me, are like bowling shoes...boring. Why do I have to feel like Pat Boone in two sports? Can anyone say that they are really attractive? Are they even comfortable? I say nay.
Women love shoes...attractive, different, and hopefully comfortable. The traditional golf shoe doesn't fit in these requirements. I find a full golf shoe to be heavy. My legs will begin to ache and cramp after a few holes. They also require a pair of socks which add to your discomfort on those hot days of golf. Have you ever left your socks in your car overnight after a round of golf? You could swear something died. In addition, you can always tell who the golfers are by the white ankles and feet when they wear a shoe other than their golf shoe.
I found my first pair of golf sandals about 15 years ago. The only positive was I didn't need to wear socks. They were just as heavy, almost clunky, as a full shoe and I got noticed because they were rare then, but not necessarily attractive. Luckily today, we have a larger variety of golf sandals and I believe we will find more and more styles and benefits of the golf sandal over the full shoe.
There are two drawbacks of wearing a golf sandal. First is the inevitable bunker shot. After you rake the trap, you need to remove your shoes and discard all the sand within your sandal. You do have the option of not removing the sand and exfoliating your feet. The other is the eye-catching tan lines you'll get...quite a design!
You can find golf sandals with Velcro straps, heavy straps, and anywhere from one to three straps. Some have an open heel but most are open toe.
Dawgs have even designed a golf sandal which I find quite unique. Okay, they might not be attractive but the comfort makes up for it!
Being a Floridian, I golf year round and only a few rounds are played in a full shoe. Because I wear sandals on and off the golf course, my foot has widened. A golf sandal is ideal because one feature is you can adjust the width to fit the different parts of your foot. Have you ever bought a shoe that fits until you put a pair of sock on? Not an issue with a sandal.
